"In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 you will see the difference, and in 30 you will have a whole new body". Joseph Pilates
WHAT IS PILATES?
Pilates is a system of exercises designed to improve strength, flexibility, posture and body awareness. There is a particular emphasis on core strength and developing your deep stabilizing core muscles.
It was a fitness system that was developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. Pilates exercises have since been adapted using the latest in exercise research to make them suitable for 21st century exercise sessions. The classical moves are still taught but are adapted and modified so that they are much more in line with today’s advancements in exercise physiology understanding.
Pilates is a form of functional fitness, designed to improve the quality of every day life as well as being widely used for rehabilitation and sports conditioning.
The aim is to enable the body to work as a whole kinetic chain, strengthening and lengthening the muscles and re-aligning imbalances .This also makes it ideal for cross-training with other sports and activities.
